Much like most of my generation, I use technology all day long, every single day. Social media such as Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook fill any empty time I manage to find with loads of aimless scrolling. Technology has been an increasingly large part of our education; we use it for research, submitting assignment, and communicating with our teachers and peer, as well as so much more. It is almost impossible to not be exposed to technology on a daily basis, which leaves even the least "techy" people at least around the 5 or 6 range on digital literacy, which is where I believe I fall as well.
In this class I hope to take my educational skills to the next level and develop an understanding of more programs that will be beneficial to my professional life. I do not often use programs like excel and it would be helpful to know how to use it to its maximum potential. Especially now, one of the things that sets our younger generation apart from a more experienced candidate for a job are our almost innate technological skills. With this class I hope to expand my knowledge in this realm.
My learning style quiz showed me that I was Active, Intuitive, Visual, and Sequential. I would agree for the most part with these results I definitely learn best if I am able to do the activity and apply it or teach it to someone else. It is always really helpful to completely immerse myself in the information. In terms of intuitive learning, I enjoy finding connections to new information in order to really make it click. I scored as a visual learner, but I would say I am probably actually both because it really helps for me to see and hear the information simultaneously and in different forms if I want to learn it. Sequential items also help me keep my focus or I will get lost and end up missing pieces of assignments or confusing the steps I was meant to follow, especially with navigational directions I cannot manipulate them at all, I need a perfect step by step if I am going to get anywhere.
